Sochi Dialogue student delegation at Viennacontemporary 201

Summary

On 25-27 September, students from Russian universities visited the Viennacontemporary contemporary art fair. The visit was organised at the invitation of Dmitry Aksenov and supported by the Russian-Austrian civil society forum Sochi Dialogue. The students represented MGIMO, S. G. Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry, and Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. The students represented Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, MARKhI, Kutafin Moscow State Law Academy.

The Culture 5.0 conference, dedicated to the integration of culture into science, business and politics, took place as part of the fair. Sharing ideas, finding ways of fruitful cooperation, developing new formats of interaction between specialists from different fields, attracting sponsors and investors - these were only a few of the issues that the conference organisers and participants set out to achieve. Russian students took part in one of the conference sessions - CultTech Lab Vienna. "The main idea of the session was the integration of new technologies into art. The mutual integration of these two hardly matching realities of our life was the main topic of the discussion. The inclusion of technology in all spheres of everyday life is an irreversible process, and sooner or later art will also feel the impact of this trend. Austria is now the centre of technology education in culture," says Sofia Kurenkova, a student.

The innovative pilot projects Konzerthaus and Enhancing artistic innovation were presented at the CultTech Lab Vienna. The projects are aimed at improving and modernising existing ways of selling tickets, attracting new audiences, visiting different cultural venues and interacting with the audience. Alexandra Melnikova, the student, talked to representatives of the Cryptotickets project and shared her impressions: "The idea of implementing a common online ticketing base also occurred in Moscow, as there is no similar alternative platform in Russia. The project has been developing for 5 years and has reached a new European level in recent years".
