The 70th anniversary of the Moscow Memorandum

The 70th anniversary of the Moscow Memorandum

On April 14, the Russian-Austrian Public Forum "Sochi Dialogue," together with the Austrian Business Club in Russia, organized a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the "Moscow Memorandum", which laid the foundation for the signing of the State Treaty on the Restoration of an Independent and Democratic Austria in Vienna.

The Moscow Memorandum was signed on April 15, 1955, in Moscow during a meeting between the Austrian and Soviet delegations in the Order of St. Catherine Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace. It preceded the signing of the State Treaty in Vienna on May 15, 1955, which restored Austria's independence.

The delegation of the "Sochi Dialogue" and the Austrian Business Club in Russia took a tour of the Grand Kremlin Palace, visiting the Andreevsky, Vladimirsky, and other halls.

Exactly at 5:00 PM, in the Catherine Hall, the Chairman of the Austrian Business Club in Russia delivered a welcoming speech, highlighting the significance of the signing of the Moscow Memorandum for the development of modern Russian-Austrian relations.

We thank the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vienna for initiating this event.
