New educational program at RSUH. Supported by the Sochi Dialogue

On September 1, 2020, the Russian State University for the Humanities will host the opening of the scientific and educational bachelor program "Russia-Austria: History, Politics, Economy, Culture".

The program is conducted in Russian, German and English and is aimed at training specialists of a wide profile who are able to develop Russian-Austrian relations in the political, economic, energy and cultural spheres. The format of the program involves the development of broad contacts between the youth of Russia and Austria, promotes the implementation of economic and humanitarian initiatives.

Upon completion of training, students acquire fundamental knowledge about the historical, political, economic, socio-cultural peculiarities of Austria and the European Union as a whole, the aspects of multifaceted Russian-Austrian cooperation and acquire competencies in monitoring and big data analytics, expert-analytical work, project, information and communication activities that are highly demanded by employers.

Students of the State Academic University of Humanities and the Moscow State Linguistic University who are engaged in Austrian studies will be involved in the implementation of the program.

The scientific and educational program was supported by the Russian–Austrian Civil Society Forum "Sochi Dialogue" - a platform for establishing and developing direct contacts between representatives of civil societies of Russia and Austria. The Forum began its work on June 5, 2018, under the agreement of the Presidents of Russia and Austria, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Alexander van der Bellen, and is currently the core of the development of Russian-Austrian projects in various fields.

The opening ceremony will be attended by prominent state and public figures, Russian and Austrian scientists. From the Russian side: Andrei Fursenko, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, co-chair of the coordination Committee of the Russian-Austrian civil society Forum "Sochi dialogue"; A. O. Chubarian, Scientific Director of the Institute of World History of the RAS, President of the State Academic University of Humanitarian Sciences, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. From the Austrian side: C. Leitl, Honorary President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Co-chairman of the Coordination Committee of the Russian-Austrian Civil Society Forum "Sochi Dialogue" (online), J. Aigner, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to the Russian Federation, S. Karner, Co-chairman of the Russian-Austrian Commission of Historians, founder and long-term Director of the Boltzmann Institute for the Research on the Consequences of Wars (online). The event is organized by the Russian-Austrian Civil Society Forum "Sochi Dialogue", the Russian State University for the Humanities, the State Academic University for the Humanities, and the Russian-Austrian Commission of Historians.

The opening of the scientific and educational program will take place in the building of the Russian State University for the Humanities at the address: 15 Chayanova Str., Academic Council Hall.

The event starts at 12.00.

Registration of participants from 11.00 to 12.00.
